Knoxville Cigar Company was opened in 1996 in an area of downtown Knoxville, known as the “Old City”.

Our first store, located at 108 S Central, was opened in May of 1996 during the peak of the cigar boom.

In 2001 we moved into a larger retail location at 120 S Central and remained there until moving in December of 2007 to 118 S Central, our current location.

The buildings housing the company are listed on the National Historic Registry, part of the Jackson Avenue Historic District. Knoxville Cigar Company is made up of two separate buildings, the larger of the two, built around 1896, houses our bars and restaurant. The smaller of the buildings, built sometime around 1894, is used for our retail and offices.

Reconstruction of the buildings started in June of 2007 and required almost a complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing re-work.

During the build-out we added almost 2000 bd ft of walnut in the construction of the retail and bar areas. In addition to eveything else we added a 300sf walk-in humidor completely lined with Spanish cedar, the only one of its kind in Knoxville.
